This is the meeting where we get to know each other! In addition, we explore what you know about birth, your fears around it, and begin getting your birth plan together. This is also a chance to get any questions you have about labor and birth answered.

In our second meeting together, we will finalize your birth preferences and discuss the plan for when you go into labor. We will also practice some labor and birth positions. This meeting is especially important for your partner to attend as they will be an invaluable part of this team. 

In our third meeting, we will explore the fears you have surrounding birth and try to let them go. Labor is as much a mental trial as a physical one. We will dive deep into relaxation for labor and do more practice of the labor positions. 

Will also discuss postpartum prep.

It's the big day! I will join you during labor as early as you need me. I will guide you and your partner through each contraction, supporting where needed, and giving you information and advocacy. I will be with you until about 1 or 2 hours after your baby is born. 

Within a week of baby's arrival I will come to your home for our final meeting. I can answer any questions you may have regarding your birth or new baby. At this time I can also refer you to postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, pelvic floor specialists, etc. 

Along with our prenatal meetings, you will also be given homework to do! This may include writing out a postpartum plan, watching videos of labor, stretching or exercises, or relaxation practices.
